Today is Earth Day, and it’s the perfect time to look at how the businesses we support, support our future too. At Mumenti, I believe that helping the Earth starts right here in our homes ~ and being a home fragrance brand I take that responsibility seriously.

If you’ve ever wondered what goes into making a sustainable home fragrance brand, here is a look at the intentional choices behind every Mumenti order.

Why I Choose Sustainable Soy-Coconut Wax and Cotton Wicks

When choosing a candle, what’s inside the jar is the most important factor for our planet and for the space you’re using our products in.

• Certified Non-Toxic Wax: I use a professional grade, premium coconut soy wax blend chosen for its high performance and certified clean qualities. Unlike traditional mass produced products, this blend is sustainably sourced, plant-based, and certified non-toxic. This ensures a stable, predictable burn and exceptional scent throw that Mumenti is known for, which have been chosen to respect your air quality. Whilst our wax is more expensive than other brands, we consciously continue to choose this for the properties it provides you.
  
  
• Natural Cotton Wicks: To keep the flame "quiet" and clean, I only use lead-free, natural cotton wicks. Combined with my plant-based wax, this minimizes soot and ensures your candle remains a mindful addition to your space where you only get what you truly want: a beautifully scented space and a quiet golden glow.
  
  

Eco-Friendly Packaging: From Compostable Labels to Dissolvable Peanuts

Sustainability in a small business is often found in the logistics. I’ve arranged my methods from start to finish, to ensure your delivery is as close to zero-waste as possible.

• Compostable Address Labels: I use a thermal printer for all shipping labels. This eliminates the need for plastic-based ink cartridges, and use Hero Packaging compostable labels.
  
  
• Biodegradable Packing Peanuts: To protect your precious deliveries, I use dissolvable biodegradable packing peanuts. They aren't plastic; they are made from natural starches. Simply run them under the tap in your sink, and they will disappear completely. This is also a fun experiment to play with little loves!
  
  
• Recyclable Glass and Plastic: All Mumenti products have been chosen with the “reduce, reuse, recycle” concept in mind. Not only is all glass fully recyclable, but all plastic products are too. Additionally, my Room and Linen Spray Bottles are made from recycled plastic that can be recycled again, keeping materials in a circular loop.
  
  

The "Minimal-Waste" Samples Program

One of my favorite ways to minimise waste within Mumenti is by ensuring no wax goes to waste in my studio. 

Instead of discarding leftover wax from my large candle pours or melt blocks, I repurpose all leftovers into the free wax samples included in your orders. It’s a small, relatable way to ensure that the energy and resources used to create my products are used to their full potential.
